MAXIM PITOIS
Passionately engaged in music, Maxime Pitois expresses his qualities in very diverse musical domains, often through original creations and film-concerts, while cultivating his predilection for the great symphonic repertoire and opera.
He obtained a Master of Arts in Conducting at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne (Switzerland) in 2014 and was selected as an active student at the Gstaad Conducting Academy during the Menuhin Festival (Switzerland), as well as at the Gabriel Pierné International Conducting Master Class (France). He studied orchestral conducting alongside Jean-Sébastien Béreau, Hélène Bouchez, Aurélien Azan Zielinski, Simon Halsey, Neeme Järvi, Leonid Grin, Gennady Rozhdestvensky, and David Reiland.
Laureate of several International Conducting Competitions, Maxime Pitois collaborates as guest conductor with the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège, the Orchestre de Chambre de Bruges, the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, the Sinfonietta de Lausanne, and the Orchestre de la Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne. More recently, he has worked with the Orchestre Symphonique du Val d’Europe, the Melbourne Opera Orchestra, the Brisbane Symphony Orchestra, the Sydney Metropolitan Orchestra, the Singapore Metropolitan Festival Orchestra, and the Bandung Philharmonic Orchestra.
Energized by the creation of shows gathering different artistic universes, he is also an enthusiastic advocate of contemporary composers and Titular Musical Director of the Orchestre Symphonique de Ribeauvillé (Switzerland) and the Labopéra Bourgogne (France), an original project to democratize opera.
Known for his pedagogical skills, he has been appointed Conducting Professor for the Bachelor Program at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne since 2017.
Eager to pass on his knowledge and values to younger generations, Maxime is also Titular Music Director of the Lausanne Conservatory Orchestras since 2013.
